Celebrating Hobbit Day
A recap: 2023
Despite being wildly overbooked in our personal and professional lives, Jack and I decided to make a quick drive up to upstate South Carolina for Fell and Fair’s Party of Special Magnificence.
We have participated in a few Fell and Fair events, but Hobbits, food and dancing is way more my vibe than running around in the woods and slaying our enemies (though, I also enjoy that - and more on that later).
I spent weeks making my first [finished] corset for the event. For my first ever, I think it turned out pretty well! I also made an apron using a Spoonflower fabric I found called Hobbit Recipes. I completed the look with a brown cloak and a layered skirt I thrifted at Goodwill.
The event had dancing, food and lots of tea. But mostly, it was lounging around on our own picnic blankets and chatting with friends.
Jack used this time to do some reconnaissance work, however. On our walk through the woods, he was mapping out the territory for our upcoming battle at Weekend Warrior. Sneaky Hobbitses.
All-in-all, it was a great event. I definitely plan to go again next year.
